As a professional photographer one of my greatest pleasures is sharing my knowledge and love for the art through instruction. Over the years, I have won awards and earned degrees in both video production and photography. For the last few years I have been teaching various photography classes at Truckee Meadows Community College. I hold a minor in Photography on an English B.A. and also a B.A. in Art with a photography emphasis through the University of Nevada, Reno. Private instruction is a pleasure and great deal of fun for me. I move at the students pace, and encourage note taking and hands on participation with their cameras in a field environment. Please feel free to contact me to set up your sessions. The lesson break down is as follows:
Lesson 1 - Camera Basics (Functions: File Formats, White Balance, Aperture, Shutter, ISO and their respective relationship).
Lesson 2 - Composition (Posing, Subject/Background Relationships, Depth Of Field, Focal Lengths).
Lesson 3 - Lighting (Back lighting, Side Lighting, Natural Light, Flash, Open Shade: What this means, and how to use them. Too, what are good contrast environments for black and white vs. color imagery etc.).
Lesson 4 - Editing (File Import, Post Processing, File Naming, File Storage).
$150 a lesson for private instruction per student, or all 4 for $500.
I also offer private instruction on specific types of photography genres such as: photojournalism, wedding, street, special occasion, studio lighting, corporate, portraiture, abstract, black and white etc…
